Dominique Clancey Scholarship (Musical Theatre)
This scholarship has been established in memory of Dominique Clancey who tragically lost her life aged just 27.
Dominique was a wonderfully passionate and gifted performer who began her career at age 3 with ballet, tap, jazz and highland dancing classes. Spending much of her childhood performing in eisteddfods, school musicals and dancing recitals, she later entered the professional industry appearing in numerous high profile TV Commercials, “A Country Practice” and the feature film “Talk”. As well as performing, Dominique managed to squeeze in a degree in Medicine at The University Of Sydney and chose to work as a doctor in The Adolescent Medicine Unit at Westmead Hospital. The scholarship is awarded to a student who brings to Musical Theatre classes the qualities that Dominique displayed – endless enthusiasm, imagination, creativity and commitment. Given her love and passion for the arts and her desire to work with children, we feel that this scholarship is a great way to honour Dominique’s memory.
